A home we are happy to share

Villa Larnia was never intended to become an anonymous holiday rental. It grew from our wish to share a special place with others — somewhere personal, peaceful and easy to settle into.

We are Laura and Helmut, and we live here ourselves in the green north of Tenerife. What we love about El Sauzal is its tranquillity, its natural surroundings and the open views across the Atlantic. At the same time, our home is ideally located for exploring many of the island’s most beautiful places.

We have deliberately kept Villa Larnia small. With just two guest apartments, we can offer a personal atmosphere while fully respecting our guests’ privacy. We are available whenever advice, assistance or something practical is needed — and then we step back again.

Our idea

We never wanted to create a hotel. We wanted to create a place where guests could feel at home for a few days.

For us, that means more than simply providing clean and comfortable accommodation. It also means paying attention to the small details: a personal welcome, a carefully prepared apartment, coffee, tea and water for the first few hours, and reliable hosts who are genuinely available when needed.

Over the years, the palm garden, quiet seating areas, pavilion, heated indoor pool and sauna have developed into a peaceful retreat. Nothing is meant to feel loud or staged. Everything is there to help our guests slow down, relax and enjoy their time in Tenerife.

What matters to us

Villa Larnia represents the kind of travel we appreciate ourselves: less anonymity, less noise and more time to experience the island.

Our guests do not stay in a large tourist resort. They stay in a private home in northern Tenerife — surrounded by the Atlantic, nature and authentic Canarian towns and villages.

We do not want to replace a hotel. We want to offer our guests a home in Tenerife for a few days.
